Fact-checking Trump’s speech in Israeli parliament

On the day Israel and Hamas exchanged captives and detainees under the Gaza ceasefire deal, Trump hailed the agreement he helped broker as a “historic dawn of a new Middle East”. While future phases of Trump’s 20-point plan for what he calls “lasting peace” remain uncertain, the president made several bold claims, among them that he “settled eight wars in eight months” and that “the Iran nuclear deal turned out to be a disaster”.
