French President Emmanuel Macron posted a message on X that France was “putting all our efforts, all our strength, into freeing the hostages held by Hamas and allowing their families to be reunited with their loved ones”. More than 240 hostages were taken back to Gaza when Hamas militants attacked Israeli settlements on October 7.
