China opposes any action escalating tensions in the Middle East, a Foreign Ministry official said on Friday. This follows the Israeli attack on Iran on Friday morning. Several countries had already warned that a retaliatory attack by Israel against recent Iranian strikes could risk dragging the entire region into a wider regional war.
