In July, Beijing set the fine air-quality record, with the monthly reading for PM2.5 falling to 16 micrograms per cubic meter. The municipal ecology and environment bureau reported that Beijing maintained this record for three months back to back. Beijing recorded PM2.5 falling to 20 micrograms per cubic meter in May and 18 micrograms per cubic meter in June.
