Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit called for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the “brutal bombardment” of civilians in Gaza. Speaking at a summit in Cairo, Abul Gheit also called for the urgent opening of a sustained safe corridor to deliver aid to the residents of Gaza. He stressed the need for the continued supply of food, medication, and fuel to the enclave.
