Afghan Army Chief General Wali Mohammad Ahmadzai has been removed as Afghanistan Army chief today on 11 August following the defeat of the military by the Taliban. Major General Haibatullah Alizah, who headed Special Operations Command, has now been posted as the new Army Chief. Taliban have snapped nine of 34 Afghan provincial capitals.
