According to Russia’s Ministry of Defence, gunmen opened fire at a Russian military training ground near Ukraine, killing at least 11 people and wounding 15 others. The ministry said that the “terrorist” attack took place in the southwestern Belgorod region that bordered Ukraine. However, the shooting comes amid a hasty mobilization ordered by President Vladimir Putin to beef up Russian forces in Ukraine.
