The government has called a special session of the Senate and the National Assembly to discuss the horrific lynching of Sri Lankan national Priyantha Kumara in Sialkot earlier this month.

The current administration also intends to introduce legislation to restrict “horse trading” in the Senate.

According to Prime Minister’s Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan, a debate on Kumara’s killing will be held in both houses of parliament on the premier’s advice.

The National Assembly will meet on December 22 while the Senate will meet on December 20. Babar also met with Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to discuss the issue.
