Senior journalist Muhammad Ziauddin died in Islamabad at the age of 83 after a long illness, according to a report by PTV News.

Ziauddin, who was born in the Indian city of Madras in 1938, died at the age of 83 at his home in Islamabad.

In 1952, five years after the split, Zia-ud-family Din’s moved to Dhaka, in what was then East Pakistan. He moved to Pakistan eight years later, in 1960, and there for the remainder of his life. Ziauddin enrolled at Karachi University to pursue a degree in journalism.
