As consumers continue to be concerned about gas disruptions in several locations across Pakistan, Shaukat Tarin, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance, said Tuesday that the government should have purchased gas cargoes earlier.

During an interview with a private news channel, the prime minister’s advisor stated that the administration was unable to purchase gas cargoes in time since the purchasing period had expired.

Tarin also admitted that no one was aware of the international prices, which he claimed were rather high, and that the government should have bought some cargoes sooner.
