The revival of a USD six billion IMF programme for Pakistan is contingent on the stamp of approval from the IMF’s two departments, the Strategy, Policy and Review Department and the Legal Department, before it is presented to the Fund’s Executive Board.

In background discussions, top official sources mentioned that the IMF’s Executive Board offers consent after receiving clearance of the staff-level agreement and these two major departments.
