DUBAI: Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani visited Tehran on Thursday as Doha sought to revive diplomatic contacts amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States. The Qatari leader met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss regional developments. Talks reportedly focused on a phased framework involving a temporary Iranian-Omani shipping corridor through the Strait and a joint mine-clearing project, as Washington and Tehran exchanged accusations over new US sanctions.
