Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian says “patience, solidarity, and hope are the keys to Iran’s resilience in the face of ever-increasing external pressures and threats”, commemorating the anniversary of the 1988 return of Iranian prisoners of war with Iraq. Speaking of the eight-year war with Iraq, Pezeshkian said in a post on X: “What befell our free men……it is the narrative of the steadfastness of men who endured suffering but did not relinquish the honour of Iran.”
