Ireland’s foreign minister has expressed concern over the worsening security situation in Lebanon and condemned attacks by both Hezbollah and Israel. In a statement, Helen McEntee said the deteriorating situation was “extremely worrying” and warned it could set back years of progress in the country. She also condemned an attack on a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon position, calling it “unacceptable”, and said she had been in contact with the Irish military’s chief of staff.
