‘Loud explosion’ reported near vessel off coast of Oman: UKMTO

A loud explosion was reported near a vessel off the coast of Oman, the UK Maritime Trade Operations said. “The Master reported a loud explosion in close proximity of the vessel followed by smoke in the water. The vessel and crew are safe,” UKMTO said, adding that the relevant authorities are investigating. “Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO,” it stated.
