Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has claimed that the new measures passed by the cabinet will make opening the land registries in the occupied West Bank public. “For years, the registries were confidential, which made it difficult to purchase land and created a lack of transparency,” he said on X. “Removing the confidentiality will increase certainty and allow for more orderly and clear conduct in the land market,” the minister claimed.
