US President Donald Trump landed safely on Air Force ‌One at Joint Base Andrews near Washington to change aircraft on Tuesday night after crew identified a “minor electrical issue” shortly after takeoff. After the three-decade-old Boeing 747 landed, the trip continued on a smaller Boeing 757 that departed just after midnight local time on Wednesday, more than two hours after the initial flight took off. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt joked to journalists that the jet the White House acquired from the Qatari government last year sounded “much better”. Mr Trump is to speak at the World Economic Forum in Davos at 2.30pm local-time (5.30pm UAE). It is not clear if the timing will change due to the delay.
