Kurt Volker, a former US ambassador to Ukraine, says there are no chances for a ceasefire to be reached in the immediate future. “The chances of getting a ceasefire or a peace deal this week, next week or this month are probably zero,” he told Al Jazeera. “The chances of getting a real peace deal with Vladimir Putin ever, probably also zero. The chances of getting a ceasefire where the fighting stops and we can help Ukraine start to rebuild, … I put that at 75 percent sometime next year,” he said.
