State Minister for Interior Affairs Talal Chaudhry on Friday issued an apology for the assault on journalists at the National Press Club (NPC) in Islamabad, which took place a day earlier when police stormed the premises and beat several journalists. At a media talk in Islamabad, Chaudhry assured the media fraternity that the government will implement all the demands put forward by the journalists. “We will address the issue in accordance with the guidelines of the press club and journalist organisations to ensure that such incidents do not happen again,” he said.
