The Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli army vowed to pursue Hamas leaders abroad after the military announced that the group’s armed wing spokesman Abu Obeida had been killed. “In the Gaza Strip, yesterday we struck one of Hamas’s senior leaders, Abu Obeida. This is not the end. Most of Hamas’s leadership is abroad, and we will reach them as well,” Lt Gen Eyal Zamir said. “This step joins a series of significant IDF strikes in Yemen, Lebanon, Syria and other arenas. We are surprising, acting with initiative and reaching every target in order to ensure the security of Israeli civilians,” he added.
