The 18th aid convoy sent by a coalition of Egyptian charities has arrived at an Israeli inspection point seeking clearance to enter the enclave, sources at the border have told The National. Shipments of aid have been entering Gaza almost daily since Israel ceased its blockade on aid coming in from Egypt on July 27 amid an international outcry over the worsening famine unfolding in the enclave. Since the resumption of aid from Egypt through the Karm Abou Salem crossing, the Egyptian side of the border has hosted several high-level visits from Egyptian and foreign officials, who have continued to call for a ceasefire in Gaza and sustained aid deliveries without Israeli obstructions.
