Hamas says it is scrutinising the latest proposal provided by mediators Egypt and Qatar, who are working with the US for a ceasefire deal with Israel in Gaza. “Hamas affirms that its leadership is carefully reviewing the proposal submitted by the mediators with high national responsibility, and will deliver its response as soon as it finalises the necessary consultations,” the group said. The group said that any forthcoming agreement must ensure a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal of the Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, a genuine prisoner exchange deal, the start of a serious path to rebuild Gaza and the lifting of the unjust blockade imposed on the territory.
