Pushing for a Palestinian state remains the only solution to the region’s conflict despite difficulties presented by Israel’s refusal to engage, the EU’s foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell said as he arrived at a meeting on a two-state solution in Brussels. “How can one not see that Netanyahu’s government is trampling on international humanitarian law … He doesn’t hide his clear desire to obstruct, by all means, the existence of a Palestinian state,” Mr Borrell said.
