The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said his visit to Lebanon while it is being heavily bombed by Israel was to show that Iran stands with the people of Lebanon. Defending his country’s missile attack on Israel on Tuesday, he said it was for ‘self defence’ and in response to Israeli attacks on Iranian interests. “We invite other regional governments to also display steadfastness in their support for Lebanon, especially amid onslaught by Israeli regime,” he said on X.
