The Saudi government rejected “extremist and inflammatory Israeli statements”, at a Cabinet session, days after Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said he would build a synagogue in the compound of Al Aqsa. In the session, Saudi Arabia also rejected the “continuous provocation of the feelings of Muslims around the world”, calling on the international community to put an end to the plight of Palestinians and hold “Israeli officials accountable for ongoing violations of international laws, norms and resolutions”.
