A British Royal Navy warship shot down a missile launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi group aimed at a merchant vessel in the Gulf of Aden, the UK said. HMS Diamond, stationed in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, shot down the missile on Wednesday using its Sea Viper anti-air missile system. The Ministry of Defence said that the UK has also intercepted weapons being smuggled into Yemen, carried out strikes against Houthi military targets, and imposed sanctions on the group’s members.
