The Israeli army opened an investigation into the shelling of a home in the southern kibbutz of Be’eri, an attack that killed 12 people held by Hamas militants on October 7. Brig Gen Barak Hiram, commander of the army’s 99th Division who led the fighting in the kibbutz, ordered a tank crew to fire on a house despite knowing hostages were being held there, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported.
