Cutting funds to UNRWA would amount to “collective punishment” against the Palestinian people, the EU’s foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Thursday. “There is no alternative to UNRWA, as the United Nations has clearly said, if you want to keep these people alive,” Mr. Borrell said in Brussels as he arrived at a meeting of EU heads of state. “So, no collective punishment to the Palestinian people. No cutting [of funding] to UNRWA,” he added.
