A second French warship arrived in the Red Sea region as part of efforts to ensure freedom of navigation, the country’s military said. The Languedoc warship had been patrolling the Bab Al Mandeb since December 8. French officials said that their ships remained under national command and their priority was to escort vessels with links to France. “In close co-operation with the allies, the French warships contribute to the respect of international law and freedom of navigation,” the military said.
