Maersk suspended shipping in the Red Sea for 48 hours after one of its vessels was attacked by Houthi rebels on Sunday. The Maersk Hangzhou container ship reported being struck by a missile while crossing the Bab El Mandab and was then attacked by four Houthi ships whose crews attempted to board it. Maersk said that it would “delay all transits through the area for the next 48 hours.” The shipping company is one of the world’s largest.
