The UN Special Envoy for Syria called on players in the Syrian civil war to curb the effects of the Israel-Gaza war on the country. “The war in Gaza has had already an impact on the situation in Syria,” Geir Pedersen told the Doha Forum. “We need to stop playing with fire. I appeal to everyone; Americans, Iranians the government, Israelis: de-escalate,” he added.
