The Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Joly said that she was deeply alarmed by the UN’s announcement that its assistance to Palestinian civilians is at risk of ending due to a shortage of fuel. “This is not acceptable,” Joly said on X. “Civilians must be protected and enough food, fuel, and water must get into Gaza so that their life-saving work can continue.” Joly also called for the release of all captives held in Gaza, adding that 346 Canadians have left the besieged enclave and crossed into Egypt.
