Gaza’s sole power plant would be shut down completely in the next few hours, the International Committee of the Red Cross said, leaving civilians “cut off from the world”. The plant “will shut down completely in a few hours due to the lack of required fuel to operate it,” Hisham Mhanna, the ICRC’s representative in Gaza, said. “If there is not power enough to keep hospitals running, the network of telecommunications [and] internet across the city then people will be cut off from the world,” he said.
