The White House said that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff was heading to Europe to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Mr Witkoff would be meeting leaders from the Middle East. “Special Envoy Witkoff is headed to Europe, where he will meet with key leaders from the Middle East to discuss the ongoing ceasefire proposal to end this conflict in Gaza and to release the hostages,” she told journalists. On Tuesday, citing unnamed officials, Axios reported that Mr Witkoff would meet senior Qatari and Israeli officials in Rome on Thursday.
