[Interim leader of Venezuela] Delcy Rodriguez’s tone has softened quite a bit over the course of the last 24 hours. Trump did appear to be quite confident that she would be cooperating with the United States moving forward. I want to read you a statement that was published by Rodriguez, who wants to prioritize a move toward balanced and respectful relations with the United States. Rodriguez goes on to say: “We invite the US to collaborate with us on a cooperation agenda focused on a shared development under international law to strengthen lasting coexistence.” Now, here she addresses the president directly, saying “Donald Trump, our peoples and our region deserve peace and dialogue, not war”.
