The US State Department said that it expected to resume funding the embattled UN agency serving Palestinian refugees provided it conducts a credible investigation into possible links between its employees and the Hamas militant group. The US and more than a dozen other countries suspended contributions to the UNRWA after Israel alleged that 12 of the agency’s workers had taken part in the October 7 cross-border massacre that started Israel’s war against Hamas.
