The US, UK, France and several other countries on Tuesday requested an emergency UN Security Council meeting to discuss maritime issues in the Red Sea. “The numerous unjustified attacks originating from Houthi-controlled territories in Yemen are a grave threat to international commerce and maritime security,” UN spokesman Nate Evans said in a statement.
