A claim by Yemen’s Houthis that their forces attacked the US aircraft carrier Dwight D Eisenhower in the Red Sea was false, two US officials said. “That is incorrect,” one told Reuters. US Central Command also tweeted that the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (IKE CSG) was leaving the Red Sea area. “Flying over 30,000 hours and sailing over 55,000 miles the IKE CSG demonstrated our commitment to regional stability and protected freedom of navigation throughout the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden,” it said.
