US envoy Amos Hochstein urged “calm on the southern Lebanese border” with Israel during a visit to Lebanon, in which he met Lebanese leaders. After he met with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Hochstein stressed the need to prevent the escalation of the low-intensity border war in Lebanon. “The United States does not want to see conflict in Gaza escalating and expanding into Lebanon,” he told reporters.
