US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has arrived in Israel to discuss with the Israeli leadership the ongoing military operation in Gaza. Austin was briefly in Bahrain before arriving in Tel Aviv, where he visited the US Naval Forces Central Command. Part of the discussions in Bahrain focused on US efforts to convene multilateral coalitions to respond to aggression at sea that threatens shipping and the global economy.
