Students at the University of Sydney in Australia have established a Gaza solidarity encampment similar to those seen in the US in recent weeks. Student organizers said the group was “inspired by the occupations spreading across US campuses” and are calling on the university and the Australian government “to break ties with Israel and end their complicity in genocide,” according to a fundraising post on X. The camp was set up on Tuesday, students said, sharing photos of tents decorated with “From the river to the sea” and “Free Gaza” slogans.
