UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said that nowhere in Gaza was safe. He also cast doubt on Israeli arrangements to protect civilians as its military ferociously goes after Hamas. Mr Turk added that Israel also had an obligation to protect civilians in the occupied West Bank, where scores of people have been killed in mounting Israeli-Palestinian violence over the past five weeks.
