Israel’s Defence Minister has said time for an agreement with Hezbollah is running out, signalling tensions with Lebanon may escalate. Yoav Gallant spoke overnight with US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin, telling him time for a settlement with Lebanon is “passing,” according to Israeli media reports. “Hezbollah continues to tie itself to Hamas,” Israeli media quoted his office saying, adding the “direction is clear” and Israel must keep Hezbollah out of southern Lebanon.
