Foad Izadi, a professor at the University of Tehran, says Iran has been and remains willing to compromise to reach a deal with the United States. But he noted that when the two countries have neared agreements in the past, other parties opposed to such diplomacy attempt to prevent a deal from being reached. “You have Israelis and other parties that don’t want to see any type of agreement … They get busy, they engage in activities to maybe try to prevent an agreement,” Izadi told Al Jazeera.
