Sweden called on the Palestinian Authority to condemn Hamas as part of efforts towards a two-state solution in the Middle East. The Nordic country, which broke with some European allies by voting in favour of a Gaza ceasefire at the UN, also told Israel to address “unacceptable settler violence” in the West Bank. Giving an annual foreign policy statement, Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom said Sweden sees “no way forward other than a negotiated two-state solution” to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
