معاشی بحران سری لنکا میں سنگینی کی آخری حدوں کو چھو رہا ہے اور اس وقت اس ملک کا انحصار بھارت اور دیگر ممالک کی امداد پر ہے۔جنوبی ایشیائی جزیرہ نما ملک دو کروڑ بیس لاکھ نفوس پر مشتمل ہے۔ تاہم، وہاں کی اکثریت اس وقت خوراک، ایندھن سمیت زندگی کی بنیادی ضروریات بھی پوری کرنے سے قاصر ہے۔
