Smotrich wants to ‘strengthen sovereignty’ over West Bank

Far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has urged Netanyahu to push for a stronger Israeli occupation of the West Bank during his trip to the US. A great deal is at stake, he said in a video message posted online as Netanyahu departed Tel Aviv. That includes “complete victory in Gaza, the destruction of Hamas and the return of all our hostages” along with “strengthening our security on all borders”, including Syria and Lebanon and countering Iran.
