According to Japanese researchers, smokers having lower immunity are at risk of some Covid-19 vaccines. In a study, researchers analyzed the level of immunity maintained by the mRNA vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech in 378 healthcare workers of ages 32 to 54. Risk factors for lower antibodies occurred in males and smokers after which it was assumed that gender difference might be because the smoking rate is twice as high in men as in women.
