The Strait of Hormuz has remained a key flashpoint in the six-month Iran-US-Israel war, with commercial vessels repeatedly targeted. The International Maritime Organization has confirmed 68 incidents across the Gulf and nearby waters, leaving at least 20 seafarers or port workers dead, 35 injured and one missing. Tankers accounted for about half of the incidents, while container ships and bulk carriers made up smaller shares. UKMTO classified 47 incidents as attacks.
