On Tuesday, the counsel for former IHC judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui told the Supreme Court that the Constitution required that an inquiry be conducted into the allegations leveled against a judge before ousting them from their position. Siddiqui was removed as a superior court judge for his July 21, 2018, speech at the District Bar Association, Rawalpindi. The opinion of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) was reconsidered by a five-member larger bench of the SC headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
